Fire-Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department #8 (non-emergency)

Six companies comprise the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department.

They called it Paradise, a place of happiness.  This was the community where most of the men who formed the nucleus of Greensburg Hose Company #8 resided.  On June 27, 1905, by a special election, Paradise, Ludwick, and Underwood were consolidated into the Borough of Greensburg.  A meeting was held January 9, 1906, in the borough council room to discuss how to go about forming a fire company. The organization of the company was completed on January 23, 1906, with 29 men signing the roster.
