Hanover County Jury Duty

Hanover County Jury Duty

The Hanover County Circuit Court regularly summons Hanover County residents to serve as jurors, and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office staff is dedicated to making the experience a comfortable and rewarding one.
Receiving a Summons
Receiving a summons does not necessarily mean that you will serve on a jury but you will be in a pool of candidates who could potentially serve as jurors in a trial.

Determining Whether You Need to Report to Court
Generally, jurors do not report to court every day of their service period. To determine whether you need to report to court each day, you will rely on the juror call-in number that is provided in the summons. The summons will detail the dates and times that you should call.
The juror call-in number is (804) 365-6352.
When you dial the call-in number, please listen to the entire message. The message will indicate whether you need to report to court and at what time.

In accordance with Virginia law, jurors receive $30 for each day they report to court, whether or not they are selected to serve. This stipend helps underwrite any expenses you may incur as a result of your service.
