Lancaster County Solicitor
The county solicitor is appointed by the Board of Commissioners, who shall be an attorney-at-law admitted to practice in the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to fulfill those duties as set forth in the County Code. 
 
Those duties include, but are not limited to, the commencement and prosecution of all suits brought, or to be brought, by the county, wherein or whereby any rights, privileges, properties, claims, or demand of the county are involved, as well as defend all actions or suits brought against the county, and shall perform all duties now enjoined by law upon county solicitors, and shall do all and every professional act and render legal advice incident to the office which may be required of the solicitor by the Board of Commissioners.
