The Kingston City NY Fire Department provides fire suppression, rescue & emergency medical service to residents. 

We should always be prepared for any disaster whether it is natural or man made. Working with the Kingston Police Department, Mobile Life Support Services and the Ulster County Office of Emergency Management we continue to prepare for any emergency.

There is no better time learn how to prepare for any emergency than right now. Preparing is simply a matter of planning ahead and being ready to react to any situation that occurs. While our current focus is on the war and possible terrorism, we should always be prepared for any disaster whether it is natural or man made..

The Kingston Fire Department provides fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical service to the residents of the City of Kingston. The department operates from seven stations, three career and four volenteer. Staffed by 63 career personnel and 40 volunteers the fire department prides itself in a three minute response to any part of the City. The department is part of the Ulster County 911 sytstem and all emergency incidents should be reported by dailing 911. The department responds to approximately 4000 emergency incidents per year. We provide service with the largest staff of New York certified Emergency Medical Technicians in the Hudson Valley. We provide basic life support services and fire apparatus are equipped with cardiac defibrillator. The department works in conjunction with Mobile Life Support Services and Community Medical Transport who provide paramedic and transport to local hospitals. The department also provides hazardous materials response throughout Ulster County. Emergency response on the Rondout Creek and Hudson River is provided by Marine Fire Rescue a joint venture of the Cordts Hose Co. and Union Hose Co. volunteers. Public Education
The Fire Department provides a containing schedule of CPR classes throughout the City. Call (845) 331-1216 for a schedule of CPR classes. Fire personnel are available for the fire safety classes and tours of fire stations can be arranged at the same number.
