As part of the 2011 restructuring of Dutchess County Government, the former departments of Office for the Aging, Veterans Affairs and Youth Bureau were consolidated into the new Department of Services for Aging, Veterans and Youth (SAVY) under the leadership of an appointed Commissioner. Each division is dedicated to continuing to serve their target populations in a more efficient manner. Please contact the relevant Division Directors for specific questions on services or programs. Mission Statement The Department of Services for Aging, Veterans and Youth (SAVY) promotes self-sufficiency, financial independence and dignity for seniors: assists veterans who served our country and their dependents to access appropriate benefits; and helps our youth reach full potential through services based on youth development principals. The department works to improve the quality of life for the Divisions targeted populations through needs assessment, planning and coordination of services, counseling and outreach.
