The City of McKeesport Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for youth and family activities such as Movies in the Park, Renzie Rib Fest, as well as holiday events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade, Salute to Santa Parade, and Festival of Trees. 

The McKeesport Parks & Recreation Department coordinates reservations for the city's pavilions and ball fields. This department also maintains athletic facilities including a hockey rink, basketball courts, and tennis courts.
