Ulster County Personnel Department

The Personnel Department administers Civil Service/Personnel functions for the County, Community College, towns, villages, school districts and special districts within Ulster County (excluding the City of Kingston). The department has two main divisions:

This division administers the hiring process as required by New York State Civil Service Law.

Examination Fees: Effective April 2, 2005, fees for all examinations, except Uniformed Protective Services titles, will be $20.00  Fees for Uniformed Protective Services titles will be $30.00.

Method of Payment: Personal check, bank check, or Postal Money Order made payable to the Ulster County Treasurer

This division oversees employee benefits, unemployment insurance benefits and employee relations, including labor/management. It is also responsible for administering the County's labor contracts.
