Saugerties High School

Saugerties High School

Saugerties High School is a high school serving Saugerteis NY students in Saugerties Central School District.

Academic standards at Saugerties High School and New York State are high. Graduates must earn a minimum of 22 credits and achieve successful scores on five Regents exams (English Language Arts, Global History, US History and Government, math and science.) To help EVERYONE succeed, we offer significant academic intervention services. Teachers also stay an "extra" ninth period to allow students time for class make-ups and small group instruction.

For students wanting to go beyond the state requirements, we offer advanced placement courses (AP) in Art, English, European History, American History, Government, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We also offer college level courses in business and math through SUNY Ulster.

We have a very well rounded athletic program run by coaches who know their sports and how to motivate student athletes. If you are interested in other types of activities we have other choices for you. Our after-school activities include History Club, Quiz Bowl, Yearbook, Key Club (award winning), National Honor Society, Math Team, Art Club and more.

In addition to the above, we are proud of the conduct of our students. Saugerties High School is safe, orderly and business-like when it comes to teaching and learning. We value the student Code of Conduct and are consistent when it comes to implementing its provisions. Our Safety Resource Officer, Jeremy Rushkoski, is on duty during school hours.
If you are considering a high school, I urge you to call us and schedule a visit. Sawyer blue and white just may be for you!
