The Engineering staff in Ashland, VA is responsible for management of the Public Works Department and the following: 
 
-Inspection of construction projects to assure compliance with approved plans  and  town standards
-Engineering design of town projects
-Project management of all construction contracted or performed by the town
-Responding to and assuring compliance with all state requirements for street  maintenance and environmental issues
-Response to other citizen requests related to public works
-Review and approval of construction drawings submitted by developers
