Joseph Y. Resnick Airport

Joseph Y. Resnick Airport

The Joseph Y. Resnick Airport was originally constructed in 1968 in conjunction with the business of Channel Master Corporation, in 1977 the Resnicks, owners of Channel Master, gave a large parcel of land to the New York State Department of Correctional Services and in 1988 the Town of Wawarsing obtained Federal and State assistance to purchase the 60-acre Airport area.

The airport is one of 27 airports in the Downstate Regional Airport system and is located in the southwestern part of Ulster county, nestled at the foot of the beautiful Shawngunk Mountains, just north of the Village of Ellenville. the airport is approximately 30 miles southwest of Kingston, 26 miles west of New Paltz and 90 miles Northwest of New York City. Again, with financial assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration and the N.Y.S. Department of Transportation, the airport is continually developing and has become " a ray of sunshine " to our area. We have " tie-down " spaces for pilots to rent and there are privately owned hangers which have space available for rent. There is a credit card system available for the purchase of aviation fuel.
