Coal

Kuntz & Son has been supplying residents with anthracite coal since 1908. Anthracite coal is better for cold winters. It provides a hotter, constant heat to keep your home warm.

Pennsylvania is the heart of anthracite coal country. Kuntz & Sons offer two grades of anthracite coal, “white ash” and “red ash.”  -Their white ash coal comes from Blaschak Coal Corp. in Mahanoy City. The white ash coal is more dense.. It will burn hotter and longer but requires a good draft. The ash after burning is a grayish color. Their red ash coal comes from Superior Coal in Hegins. The red ash coal tends to be easier to start and burn. The ash after burning is a pink color.

Both coals come in a variety of sizes and are available for pick-up or delivery.

Stone

Stone Delivery is available to Hummelstown, Hershey, Harrisburg and all East Shore Communities.

2A Modified

2A Modified has a 2-inch top size mixed with coarse stone and crushed stone dust. Used for driveways, walking paths, road base and under slab. 2A modified compacts well and allows for drainage.

2B

2B stone has a 1½ inch top size. It is a clean material and will not compact. Used for backfill for retaining walls, subbase for sheds or driveway stone.

1B

1B stone has a ½ inch top size. It is a clean material and will not compact. Used for decorative purposes and walkways. Can also be used as a pipe bedding material.

Stone Dust

Stone Dust, often referred to as Cracker Dust, has a 3/8-inch top size and sizes down to a silt sized material. Used for pipe bedding and walkways. Stone dust will not compact and drains slowly.
