Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center

On March 9, 2002, the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center opened to provide temporary safe and secure care for alleged delinquent juveniles and dependent juveniles of Lancaster County. For all juveniles, the center provides protection for the community and the child.
The Youth Intervention Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and abides by their regulations. The Center is also a member of the Juvenile Detention Centers Association of Pennsylvania (JDCAP), the Northeast Juvenile Detention Coalition (NJDC), and the National Juvenile Detention Association (NJDA).

The Director of the Youth Intervention Center is appointed by the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners.
