Postural Restoration & Clinical Massage Therapy

Harrisburg & Cleona, PA

Restore Breath & Bodywork is a licensed massage therapy practice specializing in postural restoration, breathing optimization, and movement-based bodywork. With convenient locations in Harrisburg and Cleona, Pennsylvania—just minutes from Lebanon, Hershey, Camp Hill, and communities throughout Dauphin, Lebanon, and Cumberland counties—we help clients and patients restore balance, reduce pain, and move with confidence. Our approach focuses on restoring efficient breathing mechanics and balanced movement patterns, which form the foundation for improved postural alignment, neuromuscular function, and long-term physical resilience. Our approach addresses the foundations of human health: how you breathe and how you move.

Our Philosophy

At Restore Breath & Bodywork, we believe every person has the capacity to thrive. Many of our clients arrive with medical diagnoses from other providers. While we respect those perspectives, our work does not center on diagnoses. Instead, we focus on optimizing breathing and movement patterns, because humans who breathe well and move well tend to feel well.

We are not a traditional spa-style massage practice, nor are we a physical therapy clinic. As licensed massage therapists with advanced training, we blend hands-on manual therapy, education, and guided movement to support long-term health, resilience, and vitality.

Postural Restoration?

Postural Restoration is a neuroscience-informed, evidence-based approach to wellness and longevity. It focuses on restoring efficient posture, breathing, and movement patterns through a combination of manual therapy, verbal cueing, and active participation.

Unlike passive treatments such as traditional massage, chiropractic adjustments, or acupuncture, postural restoration is a collaborative process. Your therapist works with you—educating and empowering you with tools to address the root causes of common aches, pains, and dysfunctions. Many of these patterns develop early in life and are reinforced by modern lifestyles our bodies were never designed for.

Our approach helps clients:

  • Improve breathing mechanics and airway function
  • Restore balanced posture and movement
  • Reduce chronic pain and tension
  • Enhance physical performance and daily comfort
  • Build long-term health rather than chase symptoms

Trusted by Medical Professionals

Restore Breath & Bodywork frequently receives referrals from primary care physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, dentists, orthodontists, and other healthcare providers. Our therapists hold advanced certifications and apply strong clinical reasoning to even the most complex cases.

Every client and patient receives:

  • A thorough health history
  • A holistic postural and movement assessment
  • Care plans informed by evidence-based practice

We welcome collaboration with referring clinicians and appreciate communication regarding post-operative protocols, implanted devices, or other relevant considerations. Please feel free to contact us with questions about our methods or to determine whether postural restoration and clinical massage are appropriate for your patient.

Clients vs. Patients: What’s the Difference?

  • Clients typically seek our services directly, often through word-of-mouth or referral from an existing client.
  • Patients are referred to us by medical professionals who trust Restore to provide high-quality, integrative care.

Both receive the same level of thorough assessment and individualized treatment.

Insurance & Payment

Restore Breath & Bodywork does not participate with health insurance plans and does not bill insurance companies. However, many clients and patients successfully use medical flexible spending (FSA) or health savings (HSA) accounts to cover treatment costs.

To improve accessibility, our treatment plans are structured with a cost per session below the state average, reflecting the frequency typically required for meaningful results.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your initial visit includes:

  • A comprehensive health and movement history
  • Assessment of posture, breathing, and movement patterns
  • Hands-on palpation of muscles, connective tissue, joints, and airway-related structures

For assessment accuracy, we ask clients to wear loose-fitting shorts and a tank top. Unlike traditional massage therapy—where clients undress and are draped—sessions at Restore often involve remaining dressed to allow for specific myofascial, movement, and stretching techniques.

In certain cases, additional skin access may be necessary. Your comfort, privacy, and consent are always prioritized, and expectations will be discussed as part of your individualized care plan.
