The Poughkeepsie NY Recycling & Sanitation keeps the city clean by providing twice weekly residential curb-side collections, once a week recycling collection and seasonal yard debris collection. It is also responsible for street sweeping and the enforcement of sanitation ordinances. In addition, it operates the City of Poughkeepsie Transfer Station, Bulk Service Program, and Composting Facility.  The Composting Facility provides free compost to city residents.
