Ulster County Department of Finance

The Commissioner of Finance's Office is responsible for recording and reporting the financial condition of the County within the guidelines set forth by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. It is further responsible for the enforcement and collection of delinquent property and school taxes in accordance with Real Property Tax Law. It also invests County funds securely, while maximizing interest earnings. Payroll processing is another very important part of the Commissioner of Finance's Office.

Tax Installment Payment Program: A program that enables delinquent taxpayers to set up an agreement with the County Commissioner of Finance to pay back taxes on a two-year installment plan.

The Commissioner of Finance's Office offers the following services:

Annual County Public Auction
Issuance of Certificate of Residence for Community College
Certification for paid taxes for sub-divisions
Collection of delinquent tax payments
Receipt of cash payments for civil service exams
Acceptance of retiree monthly health insurance payment
Issuance of Copy Cards
Issuance of Financial Statements
