The Dauphin County Human Services Director's Office oversees the county's human services departments located in Harrisburg, PA.  The office is responsible for human services planning, program development and grant application. The Director serves as the link between the county commissioners and the county's human services departments, which include the Area Agency on Aging, Children and Youth Services, MH/ID Services and Drugs & Alcohol services.

The Director exercises primary oversight over all these departments, coordinates planning and program development in these and related areas, and is responsible for several related block grants.

The Director's Office also coordinates many relevant community service programs throughout the county. The Human Services Directors Office mobilizes state, county, city and other local resources to combat negative social conditions, coordinate disaster relief efforts, support and collaborate efforts at local food banks and pantries, and participate in leadership training.
