City-Heritage Area Commission

The City of Kingston NY has been designated as an Heritage Area by the State of New York. This makes it possible for the whole City to celebrate its rich heritage of commerce, transportation and development.

There are two Visitor Centers in Kingston, one located at #20 Broadway, in the historic Rondout Waterfront area and the other located at #308 Clinton Avenue, in the historic Stockade District.

Each center has a standing exhibit about the history of Kingston and special exhibits throughout the year showcasing particular aspects about the community. The staff at each center looks forward to answering questions about the history of Kingston and providing information about the many special attractions and events that the City of Kingston has to offer. Public restroom facilities, information centers and gift shops are located in each Visitors Center.
